Tirtha: Kāśī-kṣetra (contextual) / tīrtha-yātrā (general)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A pilgrim, having broken the fast with simple sattvic food, sets out joyfully yet restrained; later returns and performs pitṛ-worship with water libations and offerings.
Pilgrimage is a complete dharmic cycle—begin with vrata discipline and conclude by honoring the ancestors.
The procedure is taught in Kāśīkhaṇḍa as the normative way to approach Kāśī’s tīrthas and their merit.
Perform upoṣaṇa with proper pāraṇa before departure; on return, worship Pitṛs to secure the stated fruits.
