Transliteration

śūnyaṃ daridrahṛdiva jīrṇāraṇyamivāthavā | pāṃthavatprāṃtaramiva khinno'tīvānapatyavān

Translation

Pour celui qui n’avait pas d’enfant, tout semblait vide : tel le cœur du pauvre, telle une forêt usée par le temps, tel un désert solitaire pour le voyageur ; ainsi fut-il accablé de tristesse.
