Transliteration

maheśvara uvāca | atrārthe kathayiṣyāmi purāvṛttamadhokṣaja | śṛṇuṣvaikamanā viṣṇo vāhīkasya dvijanmanaḥ

Translation

Maheśvara dit : « À ce propos, ô Adhokṣaja (Viṣṇu), je vais rapporter un récit ancien. Écoute d’un esprit recueilli, ô Viṣṇu, l’histoire du deux-fois-né nommé Vāhīka ».
