Skanda (deduced for Kāśīkhaṇḍa dialogue context)
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Listener: Ṛṣis / dharma-jijñāsu audience
Scene: A pilgrim in Kāśī offers a decorated cow with a cloth and garland to a serene, learned brāhmaṇa; beside them, another ostentatious ‘name-only’ recipient is shown with grasping hands; Gaṅgā ghāṭ and charity pavilion in background.
Charity bears fruit when offered with discernment to a worthy, dharmic recipient.
The verse belongs to the Kāśīkhaṇḍa’s Dharma teaching; it does not directly name a tīrtha.
Go-dāna (gift of a cow) is recommended, with emphasis on the recipient’s worthiness.
