यदायदा बहिर्यासि पुत्र त्रिचतुरं पदम् । तदातदा मम प्राणः कंठप्राघुणिकी भवेत्
yadāyadā bahiryāsi putra tricaturaṃ padam | tadātadā mama prāṇaḥ kaṃṭhaprāghuṇikī bhavet
Chaque fois que tu sors, mon fils, ne fût-ce que de trois ou quatre pas, à l’instant même mon souffle vital devient un hôte logé dans ma gorge, prêt à s’en aller.
