आधिपत्यकमलातिचंचला प्राप्यतां च यदिहार्जितं किल । निश्चलं सदसदुच्चकैर्हितं कार्यमार्यचरितैः सदैव तत्

Transliteration

ādhipatyakamalāticaṃcalā prāpyatāṃ ca yadihārjitaṃ kila | niścalaṃ sadasaduccakairhitaṃ kāryamāryacaritaiḥ sadaiva tat

Translation

La souveraineté — telle Lakṣmī sur le lotus — est d’une extrême inconstance, même si l’on l’acquiert ici par ses propres efforts. Aussi les nobles doivent-ils toujours cultiver ce qui est stable et réellement salutaire : la conduite droite, ferme au milieu du haut et du bas, du bien et du mal.
