Tirtha: Varuṇālaya-Samudra at Setu
Type: kshetra
Listener: Ṛṣis/śrotṛs
Scene: Vibhīṣaṇa (or the speaker) points to the roaring sea, describing it as Varuṇa’s abode and recalling the Sāgara kings who ‘dug’ it; the ocean appears personified in imagination behind the waves.
Cosmic order (ṛta/dharma) binds even the elements; when approached rightly, nature cooperates with righteous intention.
The sanctified Ocean at Setu—revered as Varuṇa’s domain and integral to the pilgrimage geography around Rāma-setu.
No explicit ritual is stated; the verse frames the ocean as a divine realm responsive to dharmic appeal.
