Skanda Purana — Brahma Khanda, Shloka 102

मधूदकं फलं मूलमेधांस्यभयदक्षिणा । अभ्युद्यतानि ग्राह्याणि त्वेतान्यपि निकृष्टतः

madhūdakaṃ phalaṃ mūlamedhāṃsyabhayadakṣiṇā | abhyudyatāni grāhyāṇi tvetānyapi nikṛṣṭataḥ

Eau miellée, fruits, racines, bois de feu, et même une dakṣiṇā donnée comme « absence de crainte » (protection et assurance) : lorsqu’ils sont offerts avec empressement, ils peuvent aussi être acceptés, bien qu’ils soient tenus pour des dons de moindre rang.
