Alors seulement on devient vraiment digne en tout lieu, apte aux actes tels que le culte des dieux. Si des pêcheurs, se plongeant dans l’eau nuit et jour, étaient ainsi purifiés, à quoi servirait une discipline plus élevée ?
Skanda (deduced from Dharmāraṇya-khaṇḍa narrative style within Brahmakhaṇḍa)
Scene: A river scene with fishermen repeatedly diving and casting nets, contrasted with a composed devotee performing restrained snāna and then offering flowers at a small shrine—visual juxtaposition of constant water-contact vs sanctifying discipline.
Ritual eligibility comes from inner purity and right discipline, not from constant physical immersion alone.
No single tīrtha is named; the teaching reframes tīrtha as moral-spiritual purification rather than mere contact with water.
It implies that for deva-pūjā and related rites, mere bathing is insufficient; one must cultivate qualifying purity/fitness.
