Skanda Purana — Brahma Khanda, Shloka 58

गतास्ते वृत्तिभाजः स्युर्नान्ये वृत्त्यभिभागिनः । तत्र नैव गता ये वै चातुर्विद्यत्वमागताः

gatāste vṛttibhājaḥ syurnānye vṛttyabhibhāginaḥ | tatra naiva gatā ye vai cāturvidyatvamāgatāḥ

Ceux qui s’y rendirent devinrent les détenteurs légitimes des moyens de subsistance qui leur étaient assignés; nul autre ne devait en partager le droit. Mais ceux qui avaient atteint l’état de «cāturvidya» n’y allèrent point.
