तमेवाराधयिष्यामि निरंजनमकल्मषः । एवं कृत्वा मतिं दैत्य स्तपस्तेपे सुदुष्करम् । भीतो जन्मभयाद्घोराद्दुष्करं यन्महात्मभिः
tamevārādhayiṣyāmi niraṃjanamakalmaṣaḥ | evaṃ kṛtvā matiṃ daitya stapastepe suduṣkaram | bhīto janmabhayādghorādduṣkaraṃ yanmahātmabhiḥ
«Lui seul, je l’adorerai—l’Immaculé, sans souillure.» Ayant ainsi fixé sa résolution, le Daitya entreprit une austérité extrêmement difficile, poussé par l’effroi des renaissances, épreuve dure même pour les grandes âmes.
