Type: kshetra
Listener: Dvijāḥ / Ṛṣayaḥ (assembly of twice-born sages)
Scene: Sūta addresses an assembly of dvijas/ṛṣis, inviting them to hear an even more wondrous event from Dharmāraṇya; the setting is a sacred storytelling hall with attentive listeners and a palpable aura of purification.
Śravaṇa (devout listening) to tīrtha and deity-mahātmya is itself a purifier, capable of eroding accumulated sin.
The episode is anchored in Dharmāraṇya—“there” refers to the sacred locale under narration.
Śravaṇa: attentive hearing of the sacred account as a dharmic practice with pāpa-kṣaya fruit.
