Ceux qui offrent au connaisseur des Purāṇa un vêtement neuf deviennent, vie après vie, des jouisseurs prospères et comblés de connaissance.
Narrator of the Brahmottarakhaṇḍa (contextual Purāṇic narrator)
Scene: A devotee presents a neatly folded new white cloth to a paurāṇika; the teacher touches it in acceptance and blesses. Behind them, symbolic motifs of Lakṣmī (prosperity) and a lamp/book (knowledge) indicate the twofold fruit across births.
Offering necessities to sacred teachers supports dharma and returns as prosperity and wisdom across lifetimes.
No specific tīrtha is named; the emphasis is on dāna to the Purāṇa-knower.
Vastra-dāna: giving a new garment/cloth to the Purāṇa reciter/knower.
