Narrator (Purāṇic voice; attributing the promise to Śiva)
Tirtha: Kapitīrtha
Type: ghat
Listener: Pārtha
Scene: A pilgrim bathes at the ford, then offers flowers, bilva leaves, water, and lamps to the Hanūmanteśvara liṅga; the ‘sins’ are visualized as dark stains dissolving into the river’s current.
Devotion joined with right action—tīrtha-snān and liṅga-pūjā—becomes a complete means of purification.
The same tīrtha described in the passage—Kapitīrtha on the Revā (Narmadā), associated with Hanūmanteśvara.
Bathe at the tīrtha (snāna) and worship the Śiva-liṅga with devotion (bhaktyā prapūjā).
