Type: kshetra
Listener: Yudhiṣṭhira (nare
Scene: Mārkaṇḍeya declares the hymn’s fruit: devotees reciting/listening ascend toward Rudra in a celestial chariot yoked to a bull, wearing divine garments, serene and radiant.
Recitation or devoted listening to sacred hymns is a direct Purāṇic means to attain Śiva (Rudra).
Narmadā’s māhātmya is the context; the hymn to Narmadā is the salvific practice tied to her tīrtha.
Recite the stotra or listen to it with deep devotion and a शांत (peaceful) mind.
