Skanda Purana — Avanti Khanda, Shloka 23
देव्युवाच । नाहं ते दयिता देव नाहं ते वशवर्तिनी । अकृत्वाधश्व वै तासां मानं सुरसुपूजितम्
devyuvāca | nāhaṃ te dayitā deva nāhaṃ te vaśavartinī | akṛtvādhaśva vai tāsāṃ mānaṃ surasupūjitam
La Déesse dit : «Ô Dieu, je ne suis pas ton aimée ; je ne suis pas sous ton pouvoir, à moins que tu n’abaisses d’abord leur honneur, vénéré même par les dieux».
