Mārkaṇḍeya
Tirtha: Revā-tīrtha (contextual)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A devout brāhmaṇa pilgrim, austere and radiant with resolve, stands at a riverbank tīrtha making a saṅkalpa to behold Sūrya; travel gear minimal, sacred thread visible, water shimmering behind.
Bhakti expressed as yātrā (pilgrimage) and darśana-intent (seeking the deity’s vision) is upheld as a powerful, purifying dharmic path.
A particular tīrtha in the Revā region is indicated but not named in this verse; it serves as the stage for Ravi-related māhātmya.
Undertaking tīrtha-yātrā with the intention of Ravi-darśana (beholding the Sun-deity).
