प्रार्थितोऽयं मया राजा सुतां दातुं न चेच्छति । तेन नष्टोऽग्निशरणादहं भो द्विजसत्तमाः
prārthito'yaṃ mayā rājā sutāṃ dātuṃ na cecchati | tena naṣṭo'gniśaraṇādahaṃ bho dvijasattamāḥ
«J’ai supplié ce roi de donner sa fille, mais il n’y consent pas. C’est pourquoi je me suis retiré de l’asile du feu sacré, ô meilleurs des brāhmaṇas.»
