Rājā (the king)
Tirtha: Revā-tīrtha (Narmadā)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A royal sacrificial enclosure at the Revā-tīrtha: altars prepared, priests perplexed, and an empty fire-pit where flames should rise; the king questions possible mantra-flaws and missing dakṣiṇā under a tense sky.
Dharma requires both correct intention and correct method: mantras, rites, and honoring officiants (dakṣiṇā) sustain sacred order.
Not a tīrtha-focused verse; it occurs within Revā Khaṇḍa’s broader sacred geography while discussing yajña procedure.
Avoid mantracchidra (errors), complete kriyā (rites) properly, and provide appropriate dakṣiṇā.
