Mārkaṇḍeya (continuing narration)
Tirtha: सागरान्त-तपःस्थल (implied)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Viṣṇu, contemplative, perceives Bhārgavī/Śrī standing in a fierce ascetic posture at the sea-shore, surrounded by a halo of heat as if her body is being consumed by tapas.
Austerity has transformative power but must be met by divine compassion; the Supreme responds to sincere spiritual intensity.
The Revākhaṇḍa’s sacred setting is implied; the emphasis is on the tapas-sthāna rather than a named tīrtha.
Tapas is depicted in its extreme form (tapas-heat); no formal ritual steps are listed.
