īśvara uvāca | kopayasva dvijaśreṣṭhaṃ gatvā tvaṃ bhṛgusattamam | yena me śraddadhatyeṣā gaurī lokaikasundarī
Type: kshetra
Listener: Vṛṣa (bull/emissary)
Scene: Śiva issues a precise command: go and provoke Bhṛgu, the foremost brāhmaṇa, so that Gaurī’s trust in Śiva becomes firm; the bull stands ready to depart.
Faith (śraddhā) is portrayed as central; even dramatic events in Purāṇic stories are framed as catalysts for deepening devotion.
The Revā (Narmadā) region is the overarching sacred landscape; this verse initiates an episode that unfolds on the river’s banks.
None directly; it is a narrative instruction rather than a vrata or tīrtha-rite.
