मयि जीवति मद्भ्राता ह्यवस्थामीदृशीं गतः । धिग्जीवितं च मे किंतु तपसो विद्यते फलम्

mayi jīvati madbhrātā hyavasthāmīdṛśīṃ gataḥ | dhigjīvitaṃ ca me kiṃtu tapaso vidyate phalam

Tandis que je vis encore, mon frère est tombé en un tel état ! Honte à ma vie — pourtant, assurément, l’austérité (tapas) doit porter son fruit.
