Scene: A sage-teacher (Mārkaṇḍeya) addressing a royal listener (Yudhiṣṭhira), palm-leaf manuscript nearby, gesturing that the detailed account lies ‘in the Purāṇa’.
Pilgrimage practice is transmitted as a formal vidhi, and the Purāṇic tradition preserves both concise guidance and extended māhātmya accounts.
The same Mokṣatīrtha being discussed; this verse signals that its fuller māhātmya is recorded elsewhere in the Purāṇa.
It closes the instruction by noting that the vidhi has been given in brief; no new ritual detail is added in this verse.
