योगप्रकारनिर्णयः

Classification and Definition of Yoga

विषयद्वयदोषाणां गुणानामीश्वरस्य च । दर्शनादेव सततं विरक्तं जायते मनः

viṣayadvayadoṣāṇāṃ guṇānāmīśvarasya ca | darśanādeva satataṃ viraktaṃ jāyate manaḥ

Par la seule contemplation des défauts des deux sortes d’objets des sens, et des qualités auspiciennes du Seigneur Īśvara (Śiva), l’esprit devient sans cesse détaché et se détourne de l’attachement au monde.

Contemplating Īśvara’s guṇas is Saguna-upāsanā: worshipping Shiva with attributes (compassion, purity, lordship). Linga-darśana and Linga-dhyāna focus the mind on these divine qualities, weakening attraction to transient pleasures and strengthening orientation to Pati (Shiva).

Daily dhyāna on Shiva’s auspicious qualities along with japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) supports this teaching; pairing it with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and rudrākṣa as reminders of impermanence and Shiva’s lordship helps stabilize detachment.
