Mantra Efficacy, Removal of Obstacles, and the Role of Faith/Discipline

Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Sthala Purana: Not tied to a Jyotirliṅga; the verse describes bhakti-rati that remains ever-fresh and yields pratyakṣa-like clarity of time (past/future) ‘like āmalaka in the hand’, a stock image for direct knowledge.
Significance: General: continuous Śiva-bhakti does not dull into routine; it renews relish (rasa) and grants clarity/discernment, culminating in right knowledge supportive of liberation.
Role: teaching
It teaches that steady practice of devotion to Shiva does not become dull; it continually renews the heart and yields clear spiritual insight, where even subtle truths appear directly knowable.
Regular Saguna worship—such as Linga-pūjā with mantra and offering—matures into a living, ever-fresh rati (devotional love), through which Shiva’s grace grants clarity of understanding and inner certainty.
Unbroken daily practice: japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and steady Linga worship; performed consistently, it ripens into renewed devotion and clear discernment.
