Role: destructive
It is a victory-acclamation (jaya) that contemplates Shiva as Pati—immeasurable, imperishable, and stainless—guiding the devotee from māyā-bound limitation toward purity and liberation.
Though Shiva is praised as transcendent (ameya, avyaya), devotees approach Him through Saguna worship such as the Shiva-Linga, where these names are recited as qualities realized in devotion and grace.
Practice nāma-japa by repeating these epithets as a stotra, ideally alongside Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), with a calm mind—optionally during Linga-pūjā with bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa as Shaiva aids.
