पञ्चावरणमार्गस्थं योगेश्वरस्तोत्रम्
Pañcāvaraṇa-mārga Stotra to Yogeśvara Śiva
पवित्रं मध्यमं ब्रह्म प्रार्थितं मे प्रयच्छतु । कुंकुमक्षोदसंकाशं वामाख्यं वरवेषधृक्
pavitraṃ madhyamaṃ brahma prārthitaṃ me prayacchatu | kuṃkumakṣodasaṃkāśaṃ vāmākhyaṃ varaveṣadhṛk
Que le Brahman du milieu, sanctifiant et pur, celui que j’ai imploré, m’accorde ma requête. Il resplendit tel la poudre de safran et le vermillon; on le nomme Vāma, paré d’un vêtement faste et éminent.
Suta Goswami (narrating the Vayu Samhita discourse to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Vāmadeva
Mantra: pavitraṃ madhyamaṃ brahma prārthitaṃ me prayacchatu | kuṃkumakṣodasaṃkāśaṃ vāmākhyaṃ varaveṣadhṛk
Type: stotra
It presents Shiva as the purifying Supreme Reality (Brahman) who compassionately responds to prayer, showing that grace (anugraha) flows from the transcendent Lord through an accessible, auspicious form.
By describing Brahman with color, name (Vāma), and attire, the verse bridges Nirguna truth and Saguna devotion—supporting the Shaiva Siddhanta view that the formless Lord is rightly worshipped through manifest forms, including the Linga.
It suggests prayerful contemplation (dhyāna) on Shiva’s auspicious form while making a heartfelt petition; practitioners may pair this with japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) as a focused devotional discipline.
