Shiva Purana — Vayaviya Samhita, Shloka 181

Pañcāvaraṇa-mārga Stotra to Yogeśvara Śiva

FAQs

It declares that sincere stotra-bhakti offered to Shiva together with Shakti is a complete sādhana: it purifies the devotee, fulfills legitimate aspirations, and culminates in liberation through the Lord’s grace.

A stotra is a Saguna form of worship—praise directed to Shiva as approachable Lord. Such praise commonly accompanies Linga-pūjā, making the heart of Shiva (and Shakti) receptive to the devotee’s prayer and leading from devotion to grace-bestowed mukti.

Regular recitation of this hymn with devotion—ideally alongside Shiva worship such as Linga-archana, japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and a focused remembrance of Shiva-Shakti as the giver of both bhukti and mukti.
