De nouveau, dans le second cercle d’enveloppement se trouvent les Itihāsa et les Purāṇa ; puis, dans le troisième cercle, les Dharmaśāstra et les traités d’autorité apparentés qui ouvrent la voie.

It teaches that Shaiva revelation is not isolated: it is protected and clarified by concentric layers of supporting scriptures—first narrative wisdom (Itihāsa-Purāṇa) and then dharma-guidance (Dharmaśāstra)—so the seeker’s devotion and philosophy remain aligned with right conduct and liberation-oriented understanding.
Linga and Saguna-Shiva worship is practiced within dharma and lived discipline. The verse implies that Purāṇic narratives inspire devotion, while Dharmaśāstra frameworks regulate vows, purity, temple conduct, and daily observances—ensuring Linga-upāsanā becomes a steady, tradition-grounded path toward Pati (Śiva).
The takeaway is to pair devotion with rule-based sādhana: perform daily Shiva worship with mantra-japa (especially the Pañcākṣarī), and follow dharmic observances such as cleanliness, vrata-discipline, and traditional Shaiva marks like bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) where appropriate.
