De Vivasvat (le Soleil) procèdent ceux-ci : Arka, Brahmā, Rudra et Viṣṇu. Leurs expansions se tiennent dans le quartier de l’est, et plus encore dans la direction du sud.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
It frames the cosmic administration as emanational—Brahmā, Viṣṇu, and Rudra function as manifested powers within the ordered universe, while Shaiva Siddhānta ultimately points beyond such directional and solar derivations to the Supreme Pati (Śiva) who transcends them.
Rudra here is a Saguna, functional manifestation within cosmic order; Linga worship, however, directs devotion to Shiva as the transcendent source in whom such functions arise and dissolve, making the Linga a unifying symbol beyond quarters and celestial hierarchies.
A practical takeaway is directional meditation: face east for clarity and auspicious beginnings, and contemplate the southern quarter as linked with dissolution/transformative power—while repeating the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) to center awareness in Shiva beyond all directions.
