It teaches that approach to Shiva’s worship begins with śauca—purification of body and conduct—so the devotee becomes fit to invoke Shiva’s presence through sacred rites and disciplined intention.
By prescribing purification and the lighting of a consecrated fire with oblations, it frames Saguna Shiva worship as a structured sādhana where the devotee prepares a pure ritual space before proceeding to offerings and formal worship.
Perform purification from sūtaka and begin the rite with āhutis into a Shiva-consecrated fire; inwardly, maintain purity of thought and steady remembrance of Shiva (often supported by japa such as the Panchakshara).
