It teaches that true authority to guide others in Śaiva dharma arises from the guru’s transmission of Śiva-consciousness (śivabhāva) through initiation—grace (anugraha) transforming the disciple into a fit vessel for teaching.
The ‘Śiva-hand’ signifies consecration by the living representative of Saguna Śiva (the guru in the lineage), grounding Linga-worship and mantra-sādhana in empowered initiation rather than mere external ritual.
It points to dīkṣā-centered practice: the guru’s sanctifying touch/nyāsa-like blessing on the head, followed by cultivation of śivabhāva through mantra (notably the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and disciplined ācāra under a Śivācārya.
