It emphasizes that Shaiva worship is transmitted through proper guru-guided rite: the disciple is placed in an auspicious orientation and receives sanctified remnants of the homa, symbolizing the descent of Shiva’s grace through disciplined ritual.
The phrase “to the right of the Lord” implies the deity’s established presence (often as the Linga in Shaiva practice). The disciple’s placement and reception of caru are parts of Saguna worship where Shiva is approached through consecrated forms, offerings, and prescribed procedure.
A homa-based Shaiva rite: seat the disciple north-facing, prepare a darbha-lined ritual circle, and administer the homa-śeṣa caru as prasad—typically alongside mantra-japa such as the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) where applicable.
