वित्तशाठ्यं न कुर्वीत यदीच्छेत्सिद्धिमात्मनः । पश्चान्निवेद्य स्वात्मानं गुरवे सपरिच्छदम् । एवं संपूज्य विधिवद्यथाशक्तित्ववंचयन् । आददीत गुरोर्मंत्रं ज्ञानं चैव क्रमेण तु
vittaśāṭhyaṃ na kurvīta yadīcchetsiddhimātmanaḥ | paścānnivedya svātmānaṃ gurave saparicchadam | evaṃ saṃpūjya vidhivadyathāśaktitvavaṃcayan | ādadīta gurormaṃtraṃ jñānaṃ caiva krameṇa tu
Si l’on souhaite la véritable siddhi de l’âme, qu’on ne commette pas de tromperie au sujet des biens. Ensuite, s’étant offert soi-même—avec ses possessions—au Guru, et l’ayant honoré selon la règle, sans travestir sa capacité, qu’on reçoive alors du Guru, en juste ordre, le mantra et la connaissance qui libère.

It teaches that Siddhi and moksha-oriented practice must rest on integrity, surrender to the Guru, and disciplined receptivity—mantra and jñāna are obtained through ethical purity and proper initiation, not through bargaining or deceit.
In Shaiva practice, Linga-worship and Saguna Shiva upasana are empowered by mantra received from a qualified Guru; the verse frames that empowerment as dependent on humility, offering of oneself, and correct observance of vidhi.
It points to Guru-puja, sincere self-offering (ātma-nivedana), and receiving Shiva-mantra diksha followed by gradual instruction in jñāna—practiced according to one’s capacity without pretence.
