Vṛndā’s Ominous Dreams and the Prelude to the Breach of Chastity
A sage (Muni)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Role: destructive
It highlights Rudra as Pati—the sovereign Lord whose act of destruction is final and not subject to ordinary revival, underscoring Shiva’s absolute lordship over birth and death.
Rudra here is Saguna Shiva—the manifest Lord who intervenes in the world. Linga worship reveres the same supreme reality, acknowledging that Shiva alone governs creation, sustenance, and dissolution.
A practical takeaway is to seek refuge in Shiva through japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and remembrance of Rudra’s lordship, cultivating surrender rather than reliance on worldly power.
