Description of Kumāra’s Wondrous Deeds
Sūta Gosvāmin (traditional Purāṇic frame narrator, concluding a chapter to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Sthala Purana: Colophon marking the completion of the chapter on Kumāra’s wondrous deeds within the Rudrasaṃhitā; not a jyotirliṅga-specific māhātmya.
This is a colophon verse marking the completion of a chapter; spiritually, it emphasizes śraddhā (reverent attention) to śāstra by clearly situating the teaching within the Śiva Purāṇa’s sacred lineage and structure.
By locating the narrative within the Rudra Saṃhitā and Kumāra-khaṇḍa, it frames Kumāra (Skanda) as part of Saguna Śiva’s divine household and līlā—encouraging devotion to Śiva as the supreme Pati whose grace is expressed through his manifested forms and family.
No specific rite is prescribed in this colophon; the practical takeaway is disciplined svādhyāya (scriptural recitation/study) and remembrance of Śiva while hearing or reading the Purāṇa, ideally alongside japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
