Nityā-paṭala-prakaraṇa
The Exposition of the Nityā-paṭala
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada in a Vedanga/technical-knowledge section)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It distinguishes the stage-based application of practices: for aspirants they may be undertaken as kāmya (goal-oriented), while for the siddha they are continuous because realization makes one naturally established in the Truth (tanmaya).
It implies that devotion or remembrance begins as intentional practice for the sādhaka, but in perfection it becomes effortless and constant—since the perfected devotee is absorbed in the object of devotion.
A technical sādhanā principle is emphasized: classify disciplines as kāmya (optional, desired-result oriented) versus nitya (always to be maintained), and apply them according to one’s stage—sādhaka versus siddha.
