Nityā-paṭala-prakaraṇa
The Exposition of the Nityā-paṭala
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It affirms a core ritual principle: correctly performed havana yields the specific phala (result) previously prescribed, emphasizing fidelity to injunctions and the certainty of karmic outcomes.
Though primarily ritual-technical, it supports bhakti by presenting offerings as disciplined acts of reverence; sincerity expressed through prescribed worship (homa) is said to culminate in the promised benefit.
Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa is implied through the nakṣatra–vṛkṣa linkage and the use of corresponding materials; it also reflects Kalpa-style ritual procedure—what to offer, into which fire, and with what adjunct (honey).
