The Exposition of the Nityā-paṭala
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It presents a karma-phala teaching: specific homa offerings performed on Saptamī are said to yield tangible, pleasing enjoyments, illustrating the Purana’s ritual science where actions (karman) produce defined results (phala).
This verse is primarily ritualistic rather than explicitly devotional; it shows a results-oriented (sakāma) practice. In a broader Purāṇic frame, such rites can be offered with devotion to elevate intention, even when the stated fruit is worldly enjoyment.
It highlights applied ritual procedure—timing by tithi (Saptamī) and the material specifics of oblations (śāli rice with milk)—reflecting technical precision typical of kalpa/karma-kāṇḍa style practice.
