FAQs

This verse functions as a catalog of specialized vidyās (knowledge-traditions), emphasizing that sacred learning in the Narada Purana includes many structured disciplines, not only devotion but also technical classifications of śāstric knowledge.

Indirectly: by situating bhakti within a broader Vedic knowledge ecology—Narada learns that disciplined study and correct classifications of vidyā can support right understanding, which in turn stabilizes devotion to Vishnu in practice.

A practical takeaway is the Purana’s method of enumerating and organizing technical vidyās—useful for śāstric study, curriculum mapping, and identifying distinct streams of learning that accompany Vedanga-style education.
