The Account of Hanumān
Suta (narrating the episode within the discourse)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It highlights the dharmic principle of seeking higher guidance before acting—first informing Śiva, then following his instruction—showing humility, deliberation, and obedience to divine counsel.
Bhakti is expressed as surrender in action: the devotee does not act independently but aligns conduct with the will and instruction of the deity (here, Śiva), treating divine command as the guiding authority.
The verse models the procedural discipline behind Vedic practice—first ascertain authoritative instruction (niścaya), then perform the act (kriyā). This mirrors the Vedanga spirit of correct method and proper sequence in ritual and conduct.
