FAQs

It teaches that a vow succeeds through vigilance and restraint: the sacred lamp symbolizes sustained purity and attention, and brahmacarya with simple living removes inner and outer obstacles until completion.

By emphasizing steady, uninterrupted practice—guarding the lamp and observing self-control—this verse frames devotion as continuity and disciplined offering, not merely emotion.

It reflects procedural vrata-vidhi: safeguarding ritual implements (like the dīpa) from antarāyas and maintaining niyamas (brahmacarya, bhūśayana) until samāpti—practical rules akin to Kalpa-oriented discipline.
