Après avoir accompli le culte selon la règle prescrite et offert un riz au lait (pāyasa) mêlé de sucre, qu’on récite le mantra ; par ce rite, on est délivré de la lèpre ou des affections de la peau.
Narada (in a technical/ritual instruction context, as part of Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It presents a vidhi-based remedial rite where correct worship (pūjā), proper offering (naivedya), and disciplined mantra-japa are treated as spiritually efficacious means to remove a severe affliction, emphasizing faith aligned with scriptural procedure.
Bhakti is expressed here as regulated devotion—offering a sattvic sweet naivedya and repeating a mantra with reverence—showing that devotion in the Purana often works through orderly ritual practice rather than emotion alone.
It highlights ritual prayoga: following vidhi (procedure), making an appropriate naivedya (pāyasa with sugar), and performing mantra-japa—skills associated with applied Vedic ritual knowledge rather than philosophical speculation.
