The Description of Mārkaṇḍeya
सत्कथाश्रवणे येषां वर्त्तते सात्विकी मतिः । तद्भक्तविष्णुभक्ताश्च ते वै भागवतोत्तमाः ॥ ५२ ॥
satkathāśravaṇe yeṣāṃ varttate sātvikī matiḥ | tadbhaktaviṣṇubhaktāśca te vai bhāgavatottamāḥ || 52 ||
Ceux dont l’intelligence pure (sāttvika) demeure dans l’écoute des récits sacrés, et qui ont dévotion à la fois pour Ses dévots et pour le Seigneur Viṣṇu, sont véritablement les premiers parmi les Bhāgavatas.
