Narada Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 93

Bhakti-Śraddhā-Ācāra-Māhātmya and the Commencement of the Mārkaṇḍeya Narrative

FAQs

The verse declares that direct vision of the Supreme (Vishnu/Janārdana) and His param dhāma is itself the highest attainment, surpassing any material or heavenly boon—marking the devotee’s complete fulfillment (kṛtārtha).

It models pure bhakti: the devotee asks for nothing except the Lord Himself. Seeing Janārdana is treated as the ultimate grace, showing devotion free from bargaining and oriented to moksha through loving surrender.

No specific Vedanga (like Vyākaraṇa, Jyotiṣa, or Kalpa) is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is devotional priority—seeking darśana and remembrance of Vishnu as the highest ‘fruit’ above ritual rewards.
