Quiconque rejette les souillures du corps dans l’eau—ou même à l’intérieur d’un temple—encourt un péché d’une extrême atrocité, égal au péché de tuer un embryon.
Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bibhatsa
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
It elevates śauca (purity) to a core dharmic duty, warning that polluting sacred spaces—water and temples—creates grave karmic demerit that obstructs merit, worship, and spiritual progress.
Bhakti is not only inner feeling but also respectful conduct: honoring the temple as Bhagavān’s abode and keeping tīrtha-like waters pure is presented as a necessary foundation for sincere worship.
It reflects Kalpa/Smārta-ācāra (ritual procedure and codes of conduct): practical rules of purity for worship settings, emphasizing what actions are prohibited around temples and water sources.
