स तु महता निगृह्णन् हृच्छयं मुनिः । न शशाक नियंतुं तं व्यासः प्रविसृतं मनः ॥ २३ ॥

sa tu mahatā nigṛhṇan hṛcchayaṃ muniḥ | na śaśāka niyaṃtuṃ taṃ vyāsaḥ pravisṛtaṃ manaḥ || 23 ||

Mais le sage, tout en réprimant avec force l’élan du cœur, ne put le maîtriser : Vyāsa ne parvint pas à contenir cet esprit qui avait jailli et s’était tourné au dehors.
