ब्रह्माचार्यौ स्वशाखौ हि कर्तव्यौ यज्ञकर्मणि । ऋत्विजां नियमो नास्ति यथालाभं समर्चयेत् ॥ २५ ॥
brahmācāryau svaśākhau hi kartavyau yajñakarmaṇi | ṛtvijāṃ niyamo nāsti yathālābhaṃ samarcayet || 25 ||
Pour l’acte sacrificiel (yajña), il faut assurément établir deux brahmacārins, étudiants de chasteté, appartenant à sa propre branche védique. Quant aux prêtres officiants (ṛtvij), il n’existe pas de règle inflexible : qu’on les honore comme il se doit et qu’on les emploie selon leur disponibilité.
