Narada Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 33

Sṛṣṭi-pralaya-kathana: Mahābhūta-guṇāḥ, Vṛkṣa-indriya-vādaḥ, Prāṇa-vāyu-vyavasthā

FAQs

It affirms that spiritual inquiry must rest on pramāṇa—reliable standards recognized by sages through śāstra—so that knowledge about the cosmos and dharma is not mere speculation.

By grounding teachings in śāstric pramāṇa, it implies that true bhakti is practiced according to authoritative guidance (vidhi and siddhānta), not only personal emotion.

It points to the śāstric concern for pramāṇa—standards of verification and measurement—relevant to technical disciplines that rely on precise definitions and validated methods (e.g., śikṣā/phonetics, vyākaraṇa/grammar, and jyotiṣa/astronomical calculation).
