Anukramaṇī (Synoptic Table of Contents) of the Śrī Bṛhannāradīya Purāṇa
पूर्वभागोऽयमुदितो बृहदाख्यानसंज्ञितः । अस्योत्तरे विभागे तु प्रश्न एकादशीव्रते ॥ १० ॥
pūrvabhāgo'yamudito bṛhadākhyānasaṃjñitaḥ | asyottare vibhāge tu praśna ekādaśīvrate || 10 ||
Cette première partie a été exposée et porte le nom de « Bṛhad-Ākhyāna ». Dans sa division ultérieure, toutefois, la question concerne le vœu d’Ekādaśī.
Suta (narratorial voice introducing the structure/sections)
Vrata: Ekādaśī-vrata
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It marks a formal transition in the text: after completing the “Bṛhad-Ākhyāna” portion, the narration turns toward a focused dharmic inquiry—Ekādaśī-vrata—signaling the importance of vrata as a practical path of purification and devotion.
By foregrounding Ekādaśī-vrata as the next major topic, the verse points to disciplined observance (fasting, restraint, remembrance) as a bhakti-supporting practice, commonly associated with devotion to Viṣṇu in Purāṇic tradition.
The verse is primarily an anukramaṇikā-style structural cue rather than a Vedāṅga teaching; practically, it cues ritual-dharma application—how a vrata (Ekādaśī observance) becomes the subject of systematic questioning and instruction.
